CM Samrat Choudhary and Bihar BJP president Sanjay Saraogi at an event

Patna: Bihar BJP president Sanjay Saraogi on Friday condemned Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor’s alleged remarks about “shooting” CM Samrat Choudhary, calling them irresponsible and contrary to democratic norms.Kishor made the remarks at a meeting on Oct 10, a video of which his office shared on X on Thursday. He allegedly said if someone had to be shot for being a criminal, “who could be a bigger criminal than Samrat Choudhary”.Saraogi said using violent language against a CM holding a constitutional office raised serious questions about Kishor’s political mindset and intentions. He described Jan Suraaj as a “suit-and-boot” version of the RJD’s “jungle raj” and said such rhetoric was unacceptable in a democracy. He said political differences could not justify advocating violence and accused Kishor of repeatedly making statements that damaged Bihar’s image. Saraogi asserted voters would reject attempts to revive the politics of lawlessness.Questioning Kishor’s political record, Saraogi said he had worked as an election strategist for the BJP, Congress and JD(U), but frequently changed course when responsibility arose. Bihar needed committed public servants rather than “political tourists”, he said.Saraogi also questioned Kishor’s role among flood-affected people after the Bankipur byelection and sought clarification over his alleged visit to Mumbai and political meetings. He demanded transparency over Jan Suraaj’s funding, election expenditure and Kishor’s political consultancy business.Saraogi said the allegations should be examined on facts through an impartial investigation and voters would judge political leaders by accountability and work rather than slogans and publicity.
