Jhansi: Criticising the ruling party on issues such as Sanatan Dharm and law and order, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday said the BJP came to power through UP and will also exit from here.Yadav questioned the BJP’s integrity, saying those who are loud about Sanatan Dharm stopped Swami Avimukteshwaranand from taking his palanquin to Sangam on Mauni Amavasya, citing crowd control. “His disciples were severely thrashed by cops in civvies, and he was barred from taking the holy dip. And how tactfully the chief minister shifted the issue as a law-and-order situation, while he himself never abides by the laws,” said Yadav, who was in Jhansi to attend a couple of family functions of party workers and inspect the site for the proposed office of PDA.He claimed the state’s law and order situation is deteriorating, alleging the administration helped the scrap mafia escape from Banda jail and flee the country through Nepal. Raising serious corruption charges against the BJP govt, he alleged, “The 90 km Gorakhpur Link Road was constructed with a whopping budget of Rs 7,000 crore. Even the road contractor arrives in a private plane.”Taking a dig at a proposed visit of chief minister Yogi Adityanath to Japan, he said, “I was told that he (Yogi) is going to Japan to see their vegetation, leaving behind the rich vegetation of the country. See, so much ganja is being confiscated on a regular basis from the region.” Asked if UP Congress heavyweight Nasimuddin Siddiqui’s induction was a replacement for Azam Khan, he said no one can replace the SP veteran.
