Suri: BJP booth president Chandan Bhalla was shot dead near Motipukur Rice Mill in Bolpur’s Ward 12 on Sunday evening. He was rushed to Bolpur Sub-Divisional Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.According to police and local sources, Bhalla, president of booth 201, was walking home when two masked men on a motorcycle approached him. The pillion rider allegedly shot him in the head before fleeing. Police collected forensic evidence and are examining CCTV footage.His family alleged a political motive and pointed fingers at TMC. Police said they are investigating whether the murder was politically motivated or stemmed from personal enmity.
