Thiruvananthapuram: BJP state unit has alleged a political plot behind the office of the chief electoral officer (CEO) sharing documents with BJP seal to political parties. BJP state general secretary S Suresh on Saturday said Election Commission (EC) was acting as the B team of CPM.“We seriously suspect that EC has also joined the attempts by state govt and CPM to sabotage the conduct of a free and fair election in Kerala. The official who was placed under suspension for sharing documents with BJP seal with political parties is an NGO Union worker. NGO Union members have sneaked into the EC with ulterior motives,” he said.Jaisil P Azeez, who was suspended from service, is a leader of NGO Union’s Secretariat Employees Association. He was deputed to EC considering his connection with CPM. He is behind the conspiracy involving BJP’s seal. It needs to be investigated where he obtained the seal from. This incident proves the conspiracy against BJP within EC, Suresh said.BJP demanded a high-level investigation against those involved. In Nemom, where labour minister V Sivankutty is contesting, the returning officer is a labour officer under him. Over a hundred polling officers under the returning officer are from labour department, Suresh said. He questioned whether the CEO was blind to the dangerous trend of the labour minister and department officials undermining the democratic process.“CPM and EC officials are conspiring to sabotage the elections in Kerala, especially in Nemom. BJP and NDA have filed a complaint with Central Election Commission against this,” Suresh said.
