Mangaluru: State topper Disha, who scored a perfect 600 out of 600 in the commerce stream of II PU exam, has received support for her higher education, with businessman B R Shetty announcing full financial sponsorship for her studies.Disha, a student of Alva’s PU College, Moodubidire, was congratulated by Dr Shetty, chief patron of World Bunts’ Foundation, during a telephone conversation in which he praised her outstanding academic performance. Shetty has reportedly assured complete support for her educational journey in accordance with her career goals.The sponsorship will cover her BCom studies at Alva’s Degree College and continue until she completes her chartered accountancy course. It will also include boarding and lodging expenses, ensuring comprehensive assistance as she pursues higher studies.Disha was felicitated by members of World Bunts’ Foundation at the chamber of Dr M Mohan Alva, chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation, on Monday. Those present included project director Dr Sanjeev Rai, secretary Dr B Sachidananda Rai, vice-president Sudhir Kumar Shetty, treasurer Praveen Kumar Shetty, trustees Dr Shishir Shetty and Prakash Manna, and others.
