Lucknow: The second edition of UP Tourism’s ‘The Riding Chapters’ commenced with 80 motorcycle enthusiasts setting out from the state capital on Saturday. The bikers would explore places beyond conventional tourist circuits in the two-day monsoon trail, covering Sarnath, Chunar Fort, Devdari and Rajdari waterfalls.UPSTDC managing director Ashish Kumar – who flagged off the ride – said: “The initiative aims at taking lesser-known destinations to a wider audience. Improved connectivity and a secure travel environment are allowing us to bring destinations that remained outside regular itineraries into wider tourism consideration. Through Visit My State Uttar Pradesh, we want young travellers to discover these places through adventure and first-hand experiences.”The riders travelled through Sultanpur and Jaunpur towards Sarnath before heading to Chunar, bringing together heritage, spirituality, nature and adventure on a single route. The historic Chunar Fort, overlooking the Ganga, is among the key attractions on the trail. The fort, associated with Sher Shah Suri, the Mughals and later British rule, is known for its imposing walls and strategic location. After an overnight stay at Kashi Anandam, the riders will begin Sunday with darshan and Ganga Aarti at Shooltankeshwar Mahadev Temple before heading to Devdari and Rajdari waterfalls.Surrounded by forests and at their best during the monsoon, the waterfalls will add an outdoor adventure element to the trail.
