Pune: A motorcycle rider, Navnath Maynale (31), died while two youngsters on another motorcycle suffered injuries after the two bikes collided head-on around 12.30am on Sunday at Shewalwadi on the Pune-Solapur highway.Assistant inspector Umesh Rokade of the Manjari police told TOI, “Maynale was a food delivery agent. The other motorcycle rider is a vegetable vendor. The vegetable vendor and his pillion rider are critical and are admitted to a private hospital.”Rokade said, “We suspect that the vegetable vendor is a minor and he was riding a bike belonging to his parents. We have called for the documents to prove his age.”Maynale was headed towards Loni Kalbhor from the Manjari area while the youngsters were headed towards the Solapur highway from Manjari when both the vehicles collided head-on, police said.“Preliminary investigations revealed that the youngsters crossed on the other side of the road from a puncture in the road divider,” he said.
