Ludhiana: A team from Bihar Police conducted a raid at a house on Amloh Road in Khanna early Thursday in connection with an alleged Rs 35 lakh Bitcoin investment fraud case.Sources said a team led by sub-inspector Maya Kumari, accompanied by Khanna Police, reached the residence of businessman Naresh Bhambri around 5am to arrest him and his son Karan Bhambri. A case has been registered against the duo and two others at Bihar’s Jehanabad district for allegedly cheating a man of Rs 35 lakh on the pretext of Bitcoin investment and allegedly issuing fake cheques.Police said when the team knocked on the gate, family members refused to open it. After around two hours, Khanna City Two police station SHO Tarwinder Bedi reached the spot, following which the gate was opened and Bihar Police searched the house.Sources said Naresh and Karan were not in the house and no objectionable material was recovered during the search.A police officer said an FIR under Section 420 of the IPC had been registered at Kako police station. He added that Bihar Police came to Khanna in search of the father-son duo and conducted a search in the presence of local police, but both were not at home.The police officer further said Bihar Police served a notice on the family and directed them to cooperate with the investigation.
