Patna: JD(U) national executive president Sanjay Kumar Jha, BJP’s Ravi Shankar Prasad and Rajiv Pratap Rudy, and RJD’s Prem Chand Gupta are among the Bihar MPs chosen to lead Parliamentary Friendship Groups for 60 countries constituted by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Monday.While Jha and Prasad will lead the groups with Germany and Israel, respectively, Rudy and Gupta will head their respective groups with Switzerland and Kenya. Sitamarhi MP Devesh Chandra Thakur and Nawada MP Vivek Thakur will lead the groups with Iran and Trinidad & Tobago, respectively.RJD MP Manoj Kumar Jha and Purnia MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav are members of the group with Argentina. AD Singh is a member of the Bhutan group; Giridhari Yadav of the India Caricom group; Vijayalakshmi Devi and Arun Bharti of the Fiji group; Kaushalendra Kumar and Tariq Anwar of the Saudi Arabia group; Sunil Kumar of the Israel group; Ajay Kumar Mandal of the Trinidad & Tobago group; Ramprit Mandal of the Maldives group; Dileshwar Kamait of the USA group; Faiyaz Ahmad of the Kuwait group; Dinesh Chandra Yadav of the Thailand group; Dharamsheela Gupta of the Ethiopia group and Radha Mohan Singh and Sanjay Jaiswal of the EU Parliament & Brussels group.Ashok Kumar Yadav, Manan Kumar Mishra, Misa Bharti, Sudama Prasad, Alok Kumar Suman, Janardan Singh Sigriwal, Veena Devi, Bhim Singh, Surendra Prasad Yadav, Sanjay Yadav, Rajesh Verma, Gopaljee Thakur, Upendra Kushwaha, Shambavi and Lovely Anand, among other MPs from Bihar, are members of different country groups.The idea behind constituting such groups is to strengthen diplomatic relations and enable lawmakers to engage directly with their counterparts abroad, share legislative experience, build trust through regular interaction, exchange best practices and further strengthen bilateral ties while promoting greater mutual understanding.After Operation Sindoor, PM Narendra Modi had sent multi-party delegations to various countries to convey India’s point of view.
