Patna: The state budget for 2027-28 will be prepared under a new model aimed at aligning schemes with the UN’s sustainable development goals (SDGs), a finance department communique said on Tuesday.A workshop was held at Bapu Sabhagar to train budget officers, internal financial advisors and other officials in the new system. The focus was on preparing estimates for 2027-28 and revised estimates for 2026-27, besides promoting research and development (R&D) in budget-making.Departments were asked to upload their estimates on the comprehensive financial management system (CFMS) portal 2.0 by Oct 1.Officials were trained in the 15-point form code and classification of revenue and capital expenditure. They were also asked to include data and physical targets for gender, child welfare and green budgets.The workshop also covered R&D budgeting, utilisation of subsidies and compliance with the Comptroller and Auditor General of India’s advice. It aimed to promote financial discipline and error-free, time-bound budget preparation.
