In the latest episode of Bigg Boss 20, Asif Khan got emotional as he opened up about his strained relationship with his elder brother. The actor revealed that he had not spoken to his brother for five to six years after a family dispute in which he slapped him. Asif expressed deep regret over his actions and said that he wanted to apologise to his brother.Speaking about the painful chapter of his life, Asif shared, “Sir, mere jo bade bhai hain ghar pe, woh mujhse pehle ghar sambhalte the saara. Lekin kuch reasons ki wajah se unko alcohol ki aadat ho gayi. Aur main bahut zyada pyaar karta hoon unse. Mujhe paanch-chhe saal ho gaye unse baat kiye hue. Ghar mein ek baar jhagda ho gaya, toh maine haath utha diya unke upar. Toh main abhi unse sorry bhi bolna chahta hoon us cheez ke liye, aur mujhe bahut regret hai us cheez pe.”(“Sir, my elder brother used to take care of the entire household before me. However, due to certain reasons, he developed a habit of consuming alcohol. I love him a lot. It has been five to six years since I last spoke to him. Once, there was a fight at home, and I raised my hand against him. I now want to apologise to him for what I did, and I deeply regret it.”)Listening to Asif, Salman Khan pointed out how unresolved conflicts can lead to years of lost time and missed opportunities to mend relationships. He advised the actor that such matters should ideally be addressed immediately rather than being allowed to linger.Salman said, “You know, Asif, yeh sab jab hota hai na, yeh usi waqt aapko solve karna chahiye. Ek raat guzar gayi, doosri raat guzar gayi, teesra, chautha din guzar gaya, aur aise karte-karte yeh chhe saal aapne nikaal diye. Abhi paanch-chhe saal waste ho gaye. Ab usi waqt next day hi jaake gale lagte, maafi maangte, toh yeh paanch saal, chhe saal aap apne brother ke saath bita sakte the.”(“You know, Asif, when something like this happens, you should resolve it at that very moment. One night passes, then another, followed by the third and fourth days, and before you realise it, you have let six years go by. You have now lost five to six years. If you had gone to him the very next day, hugged him and apologised, you could have spent those five to six years with your brother.”)Salman further encouraged Asif to take the first step towards reconciliation as soon as he leaves the Bigg Boss house. He expressed hope that Asif’s brother was watching the conversation and would understand his feelings.Adding to his advice, Salman said, “Aur Asif, I’m sure ki aapke bhai yeh dekh rahe honge. Jab aap bahar aaoge toh pehli cheez yeh karna ki aap jaake maafi maangna. Ab woh bhai chhota ho, bada ho, uske upar haath uthane ki koi zaroorat nahi. Aur especially agar woh bhai alcohol mein, kisi bhi reason ki wajah se, ki aap zyada successful ho gaye, ya koi ladki ka masla, ya biwi, ya koi depression, aur usmein woh alcoholic ho gaye. Toh instead of, you know, raising your hand aur kuch anshan bolna, you should have just supported him and taken him out of that alcohol. Yes, sir. Toh regrets ki baat maine isliye ki hai.”(“And Asif, I’m sure your brother must be watching this. When you come out, the first thing you should do is go and apologise to him. Whether your brother is younger or older, there is no need to raise your hand against him. Especially if your brother has developed an alcohol problem for any reason, whether it is because you became more successful, an issue involving a girl or his wife, or depression, instead of raising your hand against him or saying hurtful things, you should have supported him and helped him overcome his alcohol problem.”)Salman’s advice highlighted the importance of empathy and support when a loved one is struggling.
