Patna: Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) has approved proposals for allotment of land and plug-and-play sheds to 19 industrial units in the state at a meeting of the Project Clearance Committee (PCC) held here on Tuesday. The committee decided to allot a total of 20.04 acres of land for the approved units across different industrial areas of Bihar.The decision is expected to provide fresh momentum to industrial development in the state and significantly enhance investment and employment opportunities. The approved projects span diverse sectors, including food processing, footwear, electronics, textiles, plastics, compressed biogas and general manufacturing.The secretary, department of industries-cum-managing director of BIADA, Kundan Kumar, said these units will be established across various industrial areas in the state, including Industrial Area Kumarbagh, Industrial Growth Centre Begusarai and Industrial Area Hajipur, among others. The projects are expected to bring in an investment of around Rs 284 crore and generate nearly 1,200 employment opportunities.Major approved units include Shrinath Biofuels, Rashirishu Group, Lubna Shoes and Sharv Enterprises, among others. The implementation of these projects will not only boost industrial activity but also strengthen local economic development.Kumar said the state govt remains committed to balanced and comprehensive industrial development. He emphasised that BIADA is ensuring transparent and time-bound processes for allotment of industrial plots.“Additionally, the department is providing a conducive ecosystem through robust infrastructure, ease of processes, improved connectivity and policy support to ensure the swift and effective implementation of projects. This initiative marks a significant step towards positioning Bihar as an emerging industrial destination for investment,” the managing director added.
