Prayagraj: The Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation is all set to renovate the ancient Bholegiri Temple located in the Katghar area of the city. The department approved an amount of Rs 1.87 crore.As the city hosts several ancient and highly revered temples, which are visited by large numbers of devotees during festivals, Magh Melas and Kumbh Mela, city residents raised the demand for renovation and beautification.Under the renovation, a grand corridor will be constructed within the temple complex at a cost of Rs 45 lakh, along with the main entrance. A passenger shed hall will be constructed for devotees visiting the temple at a cost of Rs 34.47 lakh. In addition, repairs to floors, walls, drains, and other amenities will be undertaken, along with electrical and other decorations.The temple is one of the city’s most ancient Shiva temples, said to be approximately 150 years old. Considering the temple’s importance and antiquity, the tourism department came forward for the project.
