Bhilwara: Bhilwara MP Damodar Agrawal Thursday demanded development of Hamirgarh airstrip on Chittorgarh Road in Bhilwara city and the launch of regular air services from there to major cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. He raised the issue during Zero Hour of Lok Sabha, emphasising the commencement of air services under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (UDAN). Agrawal said the launch of air services from Hamirgarh would give new momentum to industrial, commercial and tourism activities in Bhilwara and surrounding areas. Additionally, affordable and accessible air connectivity would become available to the common public, which is being considered a major step towards regional development and better air facilities. He said the govt is in favour of starting flight services to various cities. However, despite the process being initiated several times, no airline company has shown interest in starting services from here so far, he said.
