Establishment officer at Manikya Lal Verma Government College, Shiv Nuwal

Bhilwara: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Thursday arrested an establishment officer at Manikya Lal Verma Govt College while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000 from a contractor to avoid cancellation of a manpower supply contract.The accused was identified as Shiv Nuwal.Bhilwara ACB deputy superintendent of police Narpat Singh Charan said the complainant alleged that his firm’s tender for supplying security guards, computer operators and sanitation workers to the college was approved and the personnel were deployed.According to the complaint, a security guard was found absent from duty during an inspection Sunday by the accused, following which the college principal initiated proceedings to cancel the firm’s contract.The complainant alleged that Nuwal demanded Rs 50,000 to ensure the contract was not cancelled and continued without disruption.After verifying the complaint, the ACB laid a trap and arrested Nuwal while he was allegedly accepting money from the complainant.The ACB registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act and launched an investigation.
