Ara/Patna: A day after CM Samrat Choudhary announced financial assistance and a govt job for a family member of Bharat Bhushan Tiwari, his mother Asha Devi on Friday demanded the immediate arrest of all 11 named accused, while deputy CM Bijendra Prasad Yadav said in Patna that legally tenable action would be taken against all those found guilty in the alleged police encounter killing.The CM’s announcement was based on the interim report of a one-man judicial inquiry headed by retired Patna high court judge Vinod Kumar Sinha. Bharat, 28, was allegedly killed in the encounter at Bilaut village under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur district on June 17.“Our priority is getting fair justice in the case. All the eleven named accused must be arrested immediately and after speedy trial through fast track court, those found guilty should be awarded death sentence. Only then the offer of a job and economic assistance will have the real meaning for the family,” Asha told reporters.In the FIR lodged by her at Shahpur police station on June 22, Asha alleged that cops shot Bharat even after he threw his weapon to the ground and surrendered.She said an STF jawan accused in the case had been arrested but the “big fish” who conspired and ordered Bharat’s killing must also be arrested. “Only after the govt starts arresting the named accused, the family will consider the offer of economic assistance and a govt job,” she said.Meanwhile, the deputy CM said, “The interim report has been submitted. On its basis and its recommendations, the govt has decided to provide financial assistance and govt job to a kin from the family of the deceased.”“It will be ensured that legally tenable action is taken against all the guilty persons,” he said. A policeman has already been arrested for his alleged involvement in the incident.Asha also sought rehabilitation of Jawaniya’s flood victims and martyr status for her son, besides a probe into the role of three women constables who she alleged had lathi-charged her and her daughter-in-law at the spot.
