Bengaluru: The much-anticipated Pink Line of the Namma Metro will soon undergo Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) trials as it targets a mid-2026 rollout.“RDSO trials could start before the end of the month; there are some more formalities left. The inspection could take at least two weeks to be completed,” a BMRCL official told TOI.RDSO tests are mandatory safety and performance trials for Metro systems in India to ensure that new rolling stock and infrastructure meet operational standards before public commissioning. The 21km corridor includes a 13km underground section between Dairy Circle and Nagawara. While the elevated stretch between Kalena Agrahara and Tavarekere is targeted for opening by mid-2026, the full corridor is slated for completion only by Dec 2026.As of now, four trainsets have already been delivered to BMRCL by Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML). The elevated section of the Pink Line is initially expected to operate with 4-5 trainsets.MSID:: 129734561 413 |
