BENGALURU: Four people, including a Bengaluru police inspector, were killed and 11 others injured after a passenger bus overturned and crashed into a 30-foot-high bridge on the Bhopal bypass in Biaora city of Madhya Pradesh’s Rajgarh district on Friday morning.The bus was travelling from Bengaluru to Indore when the accident occurred. Among those killed was Inspector Ravi KV, who was part of a Bengaluru Cyber Crime team travelling to Madhya Pradesh in search of an accused, Additional SP KL Banjare said.The other three deceased were identified as bus driver Vikas Shukla, Belal Ali, son of Kalimullah Mian, and Jyotiraditya Singh God, son of Vikram Singh Gaud of Bijwad.
Four fall from bus
According to police, the bus lost control and collided with the bridge on the Bhopal bypass. The impact threw around four passengers from the bus, causing them to fall onto the service road about 30 feet below.The injured were taken to nearby hospitals. Four of them are reported to be in critical condition.Three members of the Bengaluru Cyber Crime team were injured in the accident. They were identified as Sub-Inspector Ramesh Naik, ASI Srinivas and technical staff member Vishwanath. Srinivas was referred to another hospital in critical condition.
Family travelling to Ujjain
A family from Uttar Pradesh’s Jaunpur was among those travelling on the bus. Amit Kumar Pratap said he was travelling with his wife Meenu Singh, 13-year-old son Rakshit Singh and father-in-law Surendra Pratap Singh to Ujjain for Mahakaleshwar temple darshan.Several other passengers from Uttar Pradesh were also injured in the accident.The injured have been identified as Amit Kumar Pratap, Vinod Kumar Singh, Meenu Singh, Rakshit Singh, Surendra Pratap Singh, Ravi Sharma, eight-year-old Parth Sharma, Suman Sharma, Srinivas, Keshav, Ramesh Naik, Sonu and Vishwanath.Surendra Pratap Singh, Suman Sharma and Srinivas were referred to hospitals in Bhopal for further treatment.
