Bengaluru: An advocate was allegedly assaulted by a cop and two others for objecting to the policeman urinating in the driveway of his office building on Church Street on the night of Feb 6.The complainant, Adarsh Gangal, registered an FIR with Cubbon Park police, identifying the accused as Satish. However, the FIR does not mention Satish as a policeman. “We are told that the man, who was urinating, was a policeman in uniform,” a senior police officer said.
According to Gangal, he came across the person urinating in the driveway of Kalpak Arcade around 9pm while walking out of the building after work. Two more men were standing nearby and consuming alcohol. “I asked him to use a public toilet. Looking in my direction, he gestured to wait and continued his act. Afterwards, he abused me and tried to snatch my mobile when I tried to call police. The other two persons held me, and one of them hit me on my face, breaking my spectacles,” Gangal’s complaint read. When TOI tried to contact Gangal, he refused to speak, saying the matter was under investigation. A senior police officer said, “We are looking for the persons. The person, who is believed to be a policeman, is not from the jurisdictional Cubbon Park police station. This is for sure,” he said.
