Howrah: Two men were arrested from the India-Nepal border in Siliguri’s Kharibari, on suspicion of carrying out terrorist activities, by Bengal STF, with help from Howrah City Police. Police suspect the two were planning to escape to Thailand via Nepal.The arrested duo, who were living in Howrah and worked as moneylenders, have been identified as Abdullah Khan and Niyamat Khan. While Abdullah is a native of Afghanistan’s Kabul, Niyamat is from PoK, police said.On Saturday night, Abdullah went missing from his flat in Shibpur’s Shil Basti Lane. Niyamat disappeared on Sunday morning.Police have seized fake Aadhaar cards, driving licences, voter IDs, and passports from the duo. Officers have also recovered several laptops from their flats.Investigators are now examining whether the duo had links to terror networks in Pakistan or other countries.
