“The 60.06 lakh voters, doubtful and pending cases marked “Under Adjudication” in the roll as on date, ECI said in a press statement late Saturday. Names approved by Judicial Officers to be added by way of supplementary list later,” the statement said.
Maximum number of ‘under adjudication’ cases are in three Bangladesh- bordering districts of Murshidabad, Malda, and North 24 Parganas districts. These three districts combined contribute for 42 per cent of the total under adjudication cases, people in the know told ET.
Out of the total 64,452,609 in the electoral roll, 32,810,872 are male, 31,640,585 are female while 1,152 are third gender. When the SIR started, the total male was 3,89,03,865 and female voters 3,77,31, 887 as on October 27, 2025, when the SIR started and voter list was freezed.
The total deletion from West Bengal Special Intensive Revision stands at 61,78, 245 (61.78 lakh) of voters, including 58 lakh in the draft list. The total electorate of West Bengal stood at 7,04,59,284 (7.04 crore), down from 766,37,529 (7.66 crore) as on October 27, when the voter list was freezed, before the SIR. Then after the deletion of 60,06,675, the final roll shrinked to 64,452,609 (6.44 crores).
According to ECI sources, “CEO WB handed over 61 Lakh doubtful cases for adjudication in West Bengal. They can only vote if approved by Judges for the supplementary list, ECI said.
West Bengal Chief Electoral Officer Manoj Kumar Agarwal said, “We want to convey to all that they should exercise the franchise as a festival of democracy and West Bengal should lead the voting percentage in the country.”The total deletion due to Form 7 stood at 5,46,053 while the addition through Form 6 and 6A was 1,82,036 and Form 8 was 6671.
Agarwal said that the female to male ratio has been maintained at 964:1000.
After the draft roll publication on December 16, the draft electoral roll was 7,08,16630, after deletion of 58,20,899 (58.20 lakh) voters.
