Ranchi: The Ranchi office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued an orange alert for thunderstorm, lightning, and wind gusting up to 50-60 kmph in all the districts on Tuesday. A yellow alert for heavy rain in isolated areas of 18 districts on Tuesday and Wednesday was also issued.The maximum temperatures across the state would likely witness a dip by 3 to 5°C from Wednesday till Saturday, it added.“Ranchi, Khunti, Simdega, Gumla, Lohardaga, Ramgarh, Bokaro, Dhanbad, and Jamtara districts are likely to receive 64.5 to 115.5 mm rain on Tuesday. Ranchi, Khunti, Simdega, Gumla, Lohardaga, Ramgarh, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Jamtara, Hazaribag, Koderma, Deoghar, Dumka, Godda, Sahibganj, Pakur, West Singhbhum, and Giridih are also likely to receive 64.5 to 115.5 mm rain the next day,” it added.On Monday, Ranchi recorded 4 mm rain, Jamshedpur 2.6 mm, Bokaro 14.8 mm, Deoghar automatic weather station (AWS) 23 mm, Jagannathpur AWS in West Singhbhum 11 mm, Ramgarh AWS 28 mm, Koderma AWS 4.5 mm, Khunti AWS 3 mm, and Daltonganj 40 mm, the highest in the state.The state capital recorded 33.9°C, Jamshedpur 36.8°C, Bokaro 33.1°C, Chaibasa 36.4°C, and Daltonganj 39.4°C, the highest maximum temperature in the state.Meanwhile, Jharkhand received 71.1 mm rainfall from June 1 till Monday against the normal of 181.4 mm, marking 61% deficit rainfall. Sahibganj received 3.2 mm, Palamu 13.2 mm, and Chatra 21.8 mm, Saraikela-Kharsawan 39.9 mm, and Garhwa 1.7 mm, the lowest rain.
