Preity Zinta has responded to a viral paparazzi video that appeared to suggest she had “ignored” Aamir Khan during the promotional campaign for their upcoming film Batwara 1947. The actor has rejected the speculation, calling the post “clickbait content” and clarifying that she simply did not notice Aamir at the time.The incident came to light after a paparazzi account posted a video from one of the film’s promotional events. In the clip, Preity is seen coming out of her vanity van and asking the photographers, “Ek min guys, kahan jaana hai?” (One minute, guys, where do I have to go?)After being directed by the photographers, Preity proceeded in the opposite direction. Aamir, who was standing near his vanity van, was not acknowledged by her, leading the paparazzi page to post the video with the caption, “Oh no, Preity Zinta ignored Aamir Khan?”The video soon circulated widely online, with social media users speculating about a possible disagreement or uncomfortable equation between the two actors.Preity later responded to the post and criticised the way the footage had been presented. Refuting any suggestion of tension with Aamir, she wrote, “This kind of clickbait content is not cool. I didn’t see Aamir as I was in a rush to shoot some shots inside & then catch a flight for Batwara 1947 promotions. Next time pls don’t expect me to stop and take pictures if your intent is to promote any kind of negativity! I have a LOT of love & respect for Aamir, so this is not in good taste.”Her response clarified that the interaction had no deeper meaning and that she was simply preoccupied with her packed shooting and promotional schedule. It also shut down speculation about any alleged awkwardness between the two stars, who are currently working together to promote ‘Batwara 1947’.The film marks Preity’s return to the big screen after an eight-year hiatus. Her last theatrical appearance was in ‘Bhaiaji Superhit’ which released in 2018.Reflecting on her time away from films, Preity recently revealed that she did not particularly miss acting during her break. “I didn’t miss it, to be honest. I was enjoying having a family; it was new to me, having kids, focusing on my personal life. And however big my career milestones might be, my greatest milestone was to have children,” she told Hindustan Times.Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, Batwara 1947 is a period drama set in Lahore against the backdrop of the 1947 Partition of India. The film features an ensemble cast including Sunny Deol, Shabana Azmi, Ali Fazal, Karan Deol, Abhimanyu Singh, Kanikka Kapur and Khushi Hajare alongside Preity Zinta.The project is produced by Aamir Khan under Aamir Khan Productions and is scheduled to arrive in theatres on August 14.
