Hyderabad: AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday expressed concern over the increasing number of communal incidents in Telangana and demanded that an FIR be registered and a proper investigation conducted into the violence in Banswada. In a post on X, Owaisi questioned how such a large crowd could have been mobilised within a few hours and said there were enough videos showing the criminal activities of the ‘right-wing mob’.Owaisi alleged that right-wing activists specifically targeted small shops and street vendors belonging to the minority community. He said one of the accused, who was in police custody at the time, was beaten up by local ‘Sangh Parivar goons’. He added that he was in touch with Sayeed Khan, AIMIM general secretary for Kamareddy district, and had instructed him to provide a detailed report of the damage caused by the violence, especially to Muslim-owned shops.Demanding the govt to compensate those whose properties were damaged, the Hyderabad MP said the party would assist the victims in every possible way and provide relief at the earliest. On the demolition of Masjid-e-Moulana in Sadasivpet by revenue authorities, Owaisi said he had asked the party MLA from Karwan, Kausar Mohiuddin, and district president Sheikh Ghouse to speak with local authorities, and that they were currently in a meeting with them. He alleged that the owner, Mohd Kaleem, had purchased the land from one Raju, had been in possession of it for the past two years and had dug a borewell, but had faced harassment from anti-social elements since the beginning.Owaisi said the revenue authorities stated that the land is inam land and therefore had to be demolished. He questioned why action was taken only after a shed was put up on the land and asked what the authorities had been doing for the past two years.
