Madhubani: A district-level review meeting of the district level coordination committee (DLCC) and district level review committee (DLRC) was held at the Collectorate conference hall here on Monday, to assess the progress of banking schemes in the district. Held as per the directions of DM Anand Sharma, the meeting was chaired by deputy development commissioner (DDC) Suman Kumar Sah, who reviewed the achievements and target fulfilment under various banking programmes.Expressing strong dissatisfaction over Madhubani’s poor performance under the Annual Credit Plan — which currently stands at just 48.22% — the DDC directed all banks to switch to camp mode and speed up loan disbursement in the agriculture, industry and retail sectors. He stressed that concerted efforts must be made to ensure 100% target achievement by March 31, 2026.The meeting laid special focus on govt-sponsored schemes, including Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), PM Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME), PM Vishwakarma and PM SVANidhi. Banks were instructed to make extraordinary efforts to meet targets under these flagship schemes.Officials also directed banks to expedite the disposal of pending loan cases and auction notices. Emphasis was laid on prioritising the reconciliation of register IX and X, timely completion of pending KYC and re-KYC processes, and swift settlement of accounts under the depositor education and awareness fund.Highlighting that Madhubani is an aspirational district, the DDC asked banks to enhance credit flow in key sectors such as agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, food processing, PMFME, Agri-Clinics and Agri-Business Centres, and rural godowns to accelerate the district’s overall development.At the concluding session, lead district manager (LDM) Gajendra Mohan Jha urged all banks to work in close coordination to achieve the set targets and thanked all participants for their cooperation.The meeting was attended by MLA Asif Ahmad, district coordinators of various banks, officials of the RBI and NABARD, district-level officers of various Bihar government departments, and other concerned members.
