Times News NetworkGarhwa: The Garhwa administration has imposed a ban on all river ghats and other water bodies falling within the perimeter of 200 meters under section 163 BNSS.The move comes in compliance with the guidelines enforced by the National Green Tribunal (NGT), Garhwa SDM Sanjay Kumar, who has notified the ban, which will be in force for next three months till end of monsoon.The water bodies falling within the ambit of the ban include Sone, Koel, Banki, Danro and Sarswatiya rivers and all ghats of those rivers situated in sadar sub-division area. Prohibition order will also remain continued which included to-and-fro of sand laden tractors and trucks, the SDM said.“The police station officers in-charge have been instructed to enhance patrolling and keep vigil on suspicious mining activities. District mining office has been instructed to launch regular inspection and vigilance of sand ghats with the cooperation of circle officer (CO) and submit a report of action taken against the violators,” he added.
