Mumbai: A baby girl was delivered in an ambulance at Mumbai airport on Tuesday morning after her mother went into labour while in transit.At 5:17 am, medical teams were alerted to the 26-year-old Tanzanian passenger in the international transfer area, said a Mumbai airport spokesperson.Doctors reached her within minutes and shifted her to an airport ambulance, coordinating with airline staff, CISF and immigration to avoid delays, the airport added.The vehicle left for a nearby hospital at 5:40 am, but labour progressed rapidly en route. The baby was born at 5:45 am.Mother and child reached hospital by 5:55 am and were later confirmed stable.
