Mumbai: Vakola police have arrested an autorickshaw driver under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act for allegedly stalking an underage college girl in Santacruz (E) on February 9. The accused, Shreeramkumar Saav (35), is currently in judicial custody, police said.On February 9, around 11.30am, the girl boarded the autorickshaw on Golibar Road to head home. During the journey, the driver kept turning back and staring at her. Police said the girl felt uncomfortable and asked him to stop the autorickshaw and got off mid-way. As she started walking, he followed her in his vehicle and asked her to get back in. On reaching home, she narrated the incident to her parents, who took her to the police station and filed a complaint. She gave the police the autorickshaw’s registration number.Police tracked down the auto driver and arrested him the same day at 11pm. After spending three days in police custody, a local court sent him to judicial custody. Police said Saav has no prior cases against him.
