Gurgaon: One person died and six others were injured after a speeding bus hit an autorickshaw from behind and overturned it on Golf Course Road on Wednesday.One person, who was referred to PGIMS Rohtak, later succumbed to the injuries. “The injured person, who came underneath the auto and suffered serious injuries, died on Thursday,” a police officer said.Police seized the bus, which was found at the spot without the driver. The officer said the bus was coming from Delhi and belonged to a school in Vasant Kunj.The auto driver — Pintu Paswan from Bihar’s Gaya district — was among those injured. Paswan, who lives in the Sukhrali area of Sector 17, was carrying six passengers towards Sector 56, according to a complaint lodged by him at Sushant Lok police station. Paswan said. “When I reached the 42/27 red light and moved ahead on the green signal, a yellow school bus (DL1YC3332) coming from the Faridabad Road side at high speed rammed into the auto from behind. The impact caused the auto to overturn on the road, leaving several passengers injured.” Bystanders present at the spot helped lift the overturned auto and assisted the injured. Police reached the scene after receiving information about the accident through the emergency response vehicle system. A case was registered at Sushant Lok police under sections 281 (rash driving) and 125A (causing hurt by act endangering life) of the BNS. “We also added 106 (death by negligence) after the death of the individual,” the officer said.Man dies in accidentA 60-year-old man died and his wife was injured after a truck allegedly rammed into their motorcycle on the Sohna Road flyover on Monday evening.The deceased was identified as Sitaram Tiwari, a native of Azamgarh district in Uttar Pradesh, who lived with his family in Dev Nagar Part-1 in Bhondsi. His wife, Malti Tiwari (58), sustained multiple injuries and is undergoing treatment at Civil Hospital in Sector 10.According to police, the couple was travelling to Sohna on their motorcycle to purchase medicines on March 10. When they crossed the Ghamdoj toll plaza and reached the Alipur cut on the flyover, a Tata 709 Canter came at high speed and hit their motorcycle.“The impact threw the motorcycle into the divider, damaging the vehicle and knocking both riders onto the road. Malti sustained several injuries, while Sitaram suffered critical injuries and was bleeding heavily,” an officer said.An ambulance reached the spot and shifted the couple to the govt hospital in Sohna, where Sitaram died.Police said the Canter driver initially stopped at the spot but attempted to flee. A sanitation worker present nearby intervened and prevented him from escaping, though the driver later left the scene. Police found both the damaged motorcycle and the Canter at the accident spot and seized them for investigation. Malti was later declared hfit to give a statement on Tuesday. She said the accident occurred due to the negligent driving of the Canter driver. Bhondsi police registered a case under sections 281 (rash driving), 125A (causing hurt by act endangering life) and 106(1) (causing death by negligence) of BNS.
