Hyderabad: A 37-year-old auto driver was hacked to death by a neighbour due to personal grudges at Singareni Colony in Saidabad on Tuesday morning in full public view in the locality. The victim succumbed to injuries while being shifted to Osmania General Hospital (OGH). The accused is absconding and police have launched a manhunt to nab him.According to Saidabad police, the deceased was Ameer, a resident of Singareni Colony. At around 10.30 am on Tuesday, Ameer had an argument with Suman, an auto driver from the same locality near the latter’s house. During the argument, Suman attacked Ameer on the street near his house in Singareni Colony with a sickle. Ameer suffered multiple injuries and collapsed at the scene. After the assault, Suman fled from the area and the locals rushed Ameer to Osmania General Hospital (OGH) after alerting the police.Alerted by the locals, Saidabad police rushed to the spot and secured the crime scene. “Ameer was declared brought dead at OGH,” Saidabad inspector B Chandra Mohan said. During the preliminary probe, police found out that the accused and the deceased had personal grudges due to the arguments they had over petty issues while consuming liquor. “Ameer used to abuse Suman using objectionable language. On Tuesday morning Ameer picked up an argument with Suman due to personal grudge and used foul language against his family. In a fit of rage, Suman attacked Ameer,” Saidabad ACP S Venkat Reddy said.A clues team reached the crime scene and collected forensic evidence. Saidabad inspector said that they are verifying if the accused or the deceased had any criminal antecedents.On the complaint of Ameer’s family, a case was registered against Suman under section 103 (1) (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The body of Ameer was shifted to OGH morgue for autopsy.
