Pune: The civic administration on Monday launched a special drive to repair footpaths from the Shivajinagar area in the presence of Pune mayor Manjusha Nagpure and civic chief Naval Kishore Ram, while residents stressed on daily upkeep of pavements across the city.Officials from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC)’s road department said pavements along Lakaki Road and the road from Thorat Chowk to Vetalbaba Chowk were taken up for repair on a pilot basis. Chandigarh: In a significant push to streamline street vending in Chandigarh, the UT administration’s urban planning dept has cleared nine model vending zones, offering 834 designated sites equipped with essential civic facilities. With plans and drawings now handed over to the Chandigarh municipal corporation, the sites will feature water supply, toilets, electrification, garbage collection points, sanitation measures and marked vending bays.Most of the vending zones are located in the southern sectors, while two sites have been earmarked in Manimajra. Lucknow: The Lucknow Metro on Monday introduced a QR-based ticketing system, enabling passengers to book tickets directly from their mobile phones and travel conveniently across the metro network.Under the new system, passengers can purchase QR tickets through the Lucknow Metro official mobile app, available on both Android and iOS platforms. Digital QR tickets generated through the app can be scanned at automatic fare collection (AFC) gates marked with yellow stripes.
