The commander of an ethnic Armenian paramilitary unit fighting on the side of Russia in the war against Ukraine was killed in combat, the Kremlin-installed mayor of the occupied Ukrainian city of Horlivka said Monday. Hayk Gasparyan, who had commanded the Arbat Battalion since 2023, died earlier on Monday while carrying out a “combat mission,” Mayor Ivan Prikhodko wrote in a post on Telegram. Navi Mumbai: Forest minister Ganesh Naik has instructed the mayor, the deputy mayor and the governing party’s group leader in Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation to waive the three-fold property tax penalty imposed on ‘need-based houses’ in gaothans over unauthorised additional construction. He also sought that a panel be formed to present a white paper on the civic works undertaken in the last six years, when NMMC was under administrative rule. Bengaluru: After facing strong pushback from apartment complexes, Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Ltd (BSWML) is now planning to empanel four more vendors for bulk waste collection, while allowing the existing ones to continue operations.The move comes after BSWML notified Mukha Protein as the empanelled vendor for bulk waste collection for the north and east zones. Several apartment complexes received notices directing them to sign up with Mukha Protein and hand over their waste to it.
