Patna: Bihar’s growing population is demanding more milk, but the state’s livestock numbers are moving in the opposite direction. Preliminary findings of the 21st Livestock Census, conducted in 2025, show the population of milch animals has fallen by nearly 10%, while milk production has declined 2.61% over the past five years.According to official sources in the animal resource department, the latest census reverses the trend recorded in 2019, when cattle, buffaloes and goats had increased by 2% to 25%. Nagpur: Maharashtra tribal development department has permanently withdrawn the state affiliation of the aided Japatlai Ashram School in Gadchiroli following the deaths of three female students after a snakebite incident. The department has also ordered the remaining students to be shifted to other ashram schools.The school, run by the Kuparlingo Educational and Cultural Development Research Institute, came under scrutiny after six students were bitten by a snake, of whom three died. Surat: A juvenile court here ordered that two young men — who in 2016 were juveniles in conflict with the law in a murder case from the Adajan area — be kept in an observation home for three years.
