AJMER: A man in Ajmer Tuesday attacked his wife and son with an axe, allegedly after they did not sign loan papers, police said.Sampati Devi (50) and her son Sumer Singh (25), residents of Makhupura, were admitted to JLN hospital with serious injuries after the attack, Assistant sub-inspector Shri Krishan of Adarsh Nagar police station said.“We have recorded the statement of both injured and investigating further. Preliminary it came out that Pacchu Singh Rawat (52), husband of Sampati, had a heated argument with his wife over signing the papers of loan on the land, but wife was against it and, therefore, the argument turned into shouts and violence, and then Pacchu attacked his wife with axe and on hearing shouts, Sumer also came and tried to save his mother, but Pacchu also attacked him. Bharat Kumar who is tenant on first floor came rushing and saved them. Police said that Sampati got injuries on her body while Sumer on his head, and both conditions are stable. Police also reached the spot and collected evidence while Pacchu fled from the scene.”Police said the wife and son shouted and screamed during the assault, prompting tenant Bharat Kumar, who lived on the first floor, to rush in and intervene.Police reached the spot, collected evidence and said Pacchu Singh Rawat fled from the scene. Further investigation was under way.
