Gorakhpur: A 30-year-old undertrial prisoner lodged in Gorakhpur district jail died while undergoing treatment at the district hospital late Friday evening.The deceased, identified as Sameer Sheikh, was resident of Jaswal Bazar in Pipiganj.According to jail superintendent Dilip Kumar Pandey, Sheikh was sent to the district jail on Aug 19 following a court order in a case registered under the Domestic Violence Act.Pandey said Sheikh, a chronic alcoholic, was suffering from liver and kidney-related ailments.
