Gorakhpur: A 25-year-old man who jumped into the Rapti river was rescued by personnel of the 26th Battalion PAC’s flood relief team in Gorakhpur on Sunday morning.Resident of West Champaran district in Bihar, Laddu Manjhi leapt into the river near Ramghat in the GIDA police station area around 9 am. Witnesses said he began drowning in the strong current.PAC’s flood relief team, currently deployed in the area for flood preparedness training and rescue duties, launched an operation using a motorboat.
