Aizawl: Mizoram has entered a new chapter in cardiac care with the successful completion of its first Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) procedure at a private hospital in Aizawl on Sunday, sources said.The procedure involved replacing a patient’s aortic valve through an artery without the need for an open-heart surgery. Ludhiana: An elderly motorcyclist was killed instantly on Monday after being run over by a tipper truck near Lakhowal village.Darshan Singh, a Lubangarh village resident, was riding toward Machhiwara when he was struck and run over by the heavy vehicle near the Lakhowal turn, police said. He died on the spot.Emergency services moved the body to a nearby govt hospital mortuary for a forensic autopsy. Responding officers seized the tipper truck and initiated legal proceedings against the driver.Darshan’s family said his funeral will be delayed pending the arrival of his son, who is currently travelling home from abroad.
