Ranchi: Male participation in permanent family planning continues to remain low compared to women across Ranchi district, as figures of the last year pointed out that only 44 male sterilisation (vasectomy) procedures were conducted in comparison to over 2,845 among females.Officials in the district health department on Saturday said the poor response to male sterilisation could be due to deep-rooted myths, lack of adequate awareness and social stigma associated with it.“Many men continue to believe that the procedure affects physical strength or livelihood, despite medical evidence confirming that vasectomy is a simple, safe and minimally invasive procedure with quick recovery,”…
Vadodara: A truck driver who had been absconding for seven years in connection with a fatal accident was arrested by the city crime branch after being traced to Ankleshwar, police said on Sunday. The accused has been identified as Sarvajit Singh.Singh was involved in the accident in Oct 2019 while driving from Golden Chowkdi to Ajwa Road. He reportedly lost control of the vehicle, which hit the highway divider, crossed to the opposite lane, and collided head-on with a biker, killing him on the spot.Following the incident, Singh fled, and an FIR was registered against him at Harni police station.…
Gorakhpur: Three RELATIVES were killed and four others seriously injured after an SUV rammed into a stationary trailer on NH-28 in the Hata area early Sunday. All the occupants were returning to Gorakhpur after attending a function.According to police, a truck and a half-trailer had earlier collided and were standing on the highway. Due to dense fog and high speed, the car approaching from behind failed to spot the vehicles and crashed into the trailer with tremendous force.
