Authorities and gas distribution companies have outlined a simple verification process for consumers

Ghaziabad: LPG consumers who have not yet completed their e-KYC verification can do it by Aug 15. After this, they may be unable to book refills or receive cylinder deliveries till the verification process is completed, district supply officials said on Tuesday.According to officials, nearly 10 lakh of the district’s around 12 lakh registered LPG consumers have completed the mandatory e-KYC process. District supply officer Amit Tiwari said the verification drive is being closely monitored and urged all remaining eligible consumers to complete it before the deadline.Officials added that consumers who have changed their mobile numbers, relocated or whose Aadhaar details and records have inconsistencies have been advised to get these discrepancies corrected at their nearest agency to avoid facing delays.Authorities and gas distribution companies have outlined a simple verification process for consumers — where they can visit their local gas agency or registered distributor with their Aadhaar card and LPG connection details to complete the e-KYC verification on the spot.“Companies are also enabling e-KYC through the cylinder delivery staff, which can be completed via an OTP sent to the registered mobile number. It can also be completed on the company’s official app or website,” an official said.To speed up the process, several gas agencies are organising dedicated e-KYC camps to clear the backlog. Consumers seeking assistance have been advised to contact their distributor’s customer care helpline or visit the nearest agency.“There are currently 3.9 lakh PNG consumers, and post verification, we will have an idea of how many people have switched to PNG connections while still having LPG supply. Currently, there are three LPG supply agencies in the district where the consumers can get their details verified,” Tiwari told TOI.
