Stalin’s election affidavit shows his personal assets fell from Rs 7.2 crore in 2021 to Rs 6.2 crore in 2026. The drop is largely attributed to his delinking from land owned by Anjugam Publications in Chennai. The 1,825 sq ft plot in Kodambakkam houses the office of the DMK’s mouthpiece Murasoli. In 2024, Union minister L. Murugan alleged the land was classified as Panchami land—assigned to Scheduled Castes and transferable only within the community. The DMK rejected the charge, stating the property was acquired from one Parvathi Nair, who had purchased it from a German firm.

Udhayanidhi Stalin’s declared wealth has dropped by nearly 25%, according to his filings with the Election Commission of India. The decline follows his exit from film production house Red Giant Movies, which is now run by his son Inban Udhayanidhi as additional director, while his wife Kiruthiga remains an investor.
Other senior DMK leaders have also reported lower asset values. Minister E. V. Velu declared assets worth Rs 13.2 crore, while I. Periyasamy reported Rs 5.9 crore—both lower than their 2021 disclosures. Affidavit analysis indicates that the decline coincides with their dissociation from firms that have come under scrutiny by central agencies.
In 2021, Velu had invested Rs 2.8 crore in Arunai Motor Finance and Kavin Products. However, following Income Tax searches in 2023 at locations linked to the Arunai Group and his family, these entities no longer feature in his latest affidavit. Similarly, Periyasamy’s earlier investment in Irullapa Mills—declared in 2021—is absent from his 2026 filing, with the firm now under Enforcement Directorate scrutiny. His asset base has also shrunk tangibly, with his vehicle ownership reduced to a single Toyota Glanza from an earlier fleet that included an Innova and a Ford Ecosport.

Former All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam minister Sellur K Raju has seen his wealth halve to around Rs 50 lakh. Filings show he is no longer associated with JJ Pharma and JJ Medicals, where he had earlier invested close to Rs 80 lakh.
Interestingly, while several politicians have reported a dip in personal assets, the wealth of their spouses has risen over the same period. This pattern is visible in the cases of Stalin, Udhayanidhi and Periyasamy. It also extends to AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, whose own assets remained largely stable Rs 47 lakh in 2021 and Rs 50 lakh in 2026—while his wife’s wealth nearly doubled from Rs 2.8 crore to Rs 5.6 crore, aided in part by additions such as a farmhouse in Erode.
