Itanagar: Itanagar: Police in Arunachal Pradesh’s Banderdewa have arrested a 23-year-old youth from Assam and recovered 9.29 grams of suspected heroin from his possession.The accused, identified as Rohit Borah, a resident of Laluk in Assam’s Lakhimpur district, was intercepted near the border checkpoint around 11.49pm following a tip-off.A police team led by Banderdewa police station officer-in charge inspector Kipa Hamak conducted a search and found the contraband allegedly concealed inside the accused’s innerwear. A case has been registered under Section 21(b) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Banderdewa police station, and an investigation is underway.Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) Naharlagun SP Nyelam Nega said police have a zero-tolerance policy against narcotics and urged the public to remain vigilant.
