Puri: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday offered prayers at the Jagannath Temple in Puri amid tight security arrangements. “I consider myself fortunate to get opportunities to visit Puri repeatedly and seek blessings of Lord Jagannath whenever time permits. Visiting Odisha feels incomplete without offering prayers at the temple,” Sarma said.Following his arrival at the temple premises, Sarma first paid obeisance near the Arun Stambha before proceeding inside the sanctum to offer prayers to Lord Jagannath. When asked about remarks made by Congress leader Pawan Khera, Sarma declined to comment, saying he would not discuss politics at a sacred place like the Jagannath Temple.Earlier this month, Khera had alleged that the Assam CM’s wife held three passports issued by different countries and undeclared overseas assets.
