Ranchi: Several job aspirants on Monday demanded a CBI probe into alleged irregularities in competitive examinations conducted by Jharkhand Public Service Commission and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC), expressing reservations about the ongoing CID investigation.Addressing reporters at Ranchi Press Club, student leader Kunal questioned whether CID had completed its probe into the alleged question paper leak in JSSC’s combined graduate level examination. “If the investigation was over, why had the agency not made its final report public or identified the alleged mastermind?” he asked.Claiming that the state agency could face political pressure, Kunal sought scrutiny of the selection of Abhay Kumar Tiwari, arrested in connection with alleged irregularities in the 14th JPSC civil services examination, through JSSC-CGL and other recruitment tests. He also demanded a review of all JPSC examinations conducted with the involvement of TSR Data Processing Private Limited (TDPL).The aspirants said recent raids and arrests, coupled with unresolved allegations surrounding recruitment examinations, had eroded candidates’ faith in the selection process.Backing their demand, Union minister of state for defence and Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth sought a CBI inquiry into alleged irregularities in examinations conducted by JPSC and JSSC.Seth questioned how TDPL, which had faced blacklisting action in Uttar Pradesh, was entrusted with responsibilities related to JPSC examinations. He said an independent investigation was necessary to establish the facts, fix accountability and restore public confidence in Jharkhand’s recruitment system.
