Jhansi: The Indian Army and civil administration held their annual Military-Civil Liaison Conference here on Monday to strengthen coordination and address issues of mutual interest, including infrastructure, land management, security, disaster management and welfare.Held under the aegis of the White Tiger Division, the conference was co-chaired by General Officer Commanding (GOC) Major General Mandeep Singh, AVSM, SM, White Tiger Division and Jhansi-Lalitpur MP Anurag Sharma. Both stressed the need for sustained and seamless coordination between military and civil agencies to address common concerns and promote development in the region.The conference was attended by Jhansi DM Gaurang Rathi, IG Range Akash Khulari and municipal commissioner Akansha Rana, along with senior military and civil officials. Officials from the district administration, police, municipal corporation, Railways and development authorities also attended the event.Maj Gen Singh reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to strengthening military-civil cooperation as part of a “whole-of-nation” approach. He said close coordination with civil authorities was essential to deal effectively with emerging challenges, particularly those related to national security, disaster management and nation-building.Anurag Sharma, while assuring full cooperation from the civil administration, said that mutual cooperation will lead to overall development of the region.The Army commander also assured the civil administration of continued support and cooperation in areas of mutual interest.Both sides had a detailed discussions on infrastructure development, land management, security-related issues and welfare measures for armed forces personnel and civilians. Emphasis was laid on strengthening institutional mechanisms for timely communication, coordination and resolution of issues.The conference concluded with a commitment to deepen military-civil partnership through regular dialogue, mutual trust and coordinated initiatives aimed at strengthening national security, regional development and community welfare.
