Chandigarh: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Dhiraj Seth called on Punjab governor and UT administrator Gulab Chand Kataria at Punjab Lok Bhavan on Tuesday and discussed issues related to civil-military coordination as well as regional security.In his first meeting with Kataria after assuming charge as Army Chief, General Seth reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to nation-building and thanked the Punjab govt for its policies aimed at the welfare of veterans. He also briefed the governor on the latest developments related to internal security, projects being undertaken in border areas, and initiatives for the welfare of ex-servicemen.Lieutenant General Pushpendra Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command, along with senior officials from Army Headquarters, was present during the meeting.According to Colonel Jusdeep Sandhu, Adviser (Civil-Military Affairs), the meeting strengthened civil-military synergy in the region and reinforced confidence in jointly addressing internal security challenges, maintaining peace along the borders, responding effectively to natural disasters and external threats, and improving preparedness for other emergencies.
