New Delhi: Australia-based global safety solutions company Ansell Limited plans to invest USD 60 million in India as it sets up a new manufacturing facility for surgical gloves.

The company said the proposed facility is expected to cater to the growing demand for high-quality surgical gloves in India and international markets, while further strengthening Ansell’s supply chain and manufacturing footprint.

Ansell added that this reflects its confidence in the Indian healthcare and medical devices sector which has witnessed increasing demand for medical consumables and protective products, driven by the expansion of healthcare infrastructure, rising awareness around infection prevention and the need for high-quality medical product.

“The investment is primarily to cater to the domestic market and to export to the US and Europe,” said Nathalie Ahlström, MD & CEO, Ansell of the company.
