Dhubri: Tension gripped the Chagolia area of Dhubri district after animal parts were recovered from a religious site on Thursday morning. Police have detained a person suspected of being involved in the incident for questioning. As news spread, people from nearby villages gathered at the site and protested against the act.Golokganj police circle officer, Navajyoti Roy, and revenue circle officers rushed to the spot and urged them to maintain peace.In protest against the act, activists blocked NH-17 at Chagolia for an hour. After police assured protesters of action against those responsible, the blockade was removed.A police source in Golokganj police circle said a person suspected of being involved in this incident has been picked up and being interrogated, adding that within a couple of days, few more would may be nabbed.
