Andrew Kwon Looks to the 'Mystery of the Natural World' for a Dreamy Spring 2027 Collection

One thing to know about Andrew Kwon? His designs will always whisk you away into a fantasy-scape. And on the last day of New York Fashion Week — when showgoers have reached their exhaustion limit — mentally escaping into another reality is exactly what’s needed.

On Tuesday afternoon, the New York-based designer presented his Spring 2027 collection, titled “Séraphine.” Inspired by Nicolino Calyo’s painting, “Arcadian Landscape,” it explores femininity through the beauty and mystery of the natural world, according to the show notes. The resulting spring offering translates the movement of shifting lights and cascading waterfalls into iridescent fabrics and sweeping trains. Kwon incorporated more direct natural references through hand-tacked crystallized floral embroideries and an earthy color palette (spanning violet and midnight blues, sage green and cloud grey).

“[Pushing] myself as a designer means listening to my own intuition, not listening to trends and not knowing if it’s going to sell or not,” Kwon told Fashionista backstage ahead of the show. “Creating something that feels different and that other people don’t have is something I’m always challenging myself to do…It was something that I was uncomfortable with at certain points before, but I’m fully embracing now.”
