Amravati: Former Indian Army chief general Manoj Pande (retd) on Monday advised fresh graduates to focus on character, capability and conduct, and to continuously update their knowledge and skills while emphasising that their contribution is crucial to India’s transformation and progress. He encouraged students to pursue excellence and make a positive impact on society.Gen Pande was delivering the address at the 42nd convocation of Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University. The convocation honoured outstanding students and researchers, with 80% of awards going to female students. Degrees were presented to over 42,000 students. He praised the institution for promoting research and innovation while citing 12 patents secured by faculty and students. Pande also stressed importance of emotional intelligence, human values, and embracing change. Dignitaries, including former CJI Bhushan Gawai, Mahatma Gandhi University VC Vilas Sapkal attended the ceremony.
