The second supplementary list under Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in West Bengal will be published by Friday late night after being uploaded by the Election Commission, following e-signing by judicial magistrates.

Meanwhile, a three-member committee has been formed to look into infrastructure and other modalities related to the appellate tribunals. “Till evening, 37 lakh cases have been disposed of by 705 judicial officers under the monitoring of the Calcutta High Court,” West Bengal CEO Manoj Agarwal told media persons. The first supplementary list was published on Monday. Agarwal and Special Rolls Observer Subrata Gupta held a high-level meeting with Calcutta HC Chief Justice Sujay Paul on Friday. However, infrastructure for the appellate tribunal has not yet been readied. The ECI had announced the constitution of 19 tribunals under the supervision of the high court.

ECI has said that the entire process is being conducted under the supervision of HC Chief Justice.

Around 58 lakh names were deleted during the draft list release phase of SIR exercise. Another five lakh were deleted during the final electoral roll release on February 28.
